Pro – with this and a playstation console you have everything you need to start from ground zero.Pro – the game is amazing and a fantastic way to learn. The games force you to learn to feel the position of the frets and strings and this alone is worth the cost of the gamePro – The quality of the guitar is fine but not supercritical when starting from zero and you can begin your journey while you save up for a high quality instrument and become more familiar with the features you want in a guitar.Con – if you dont have a playstation console, the cost of learning this way jumps …but I took the plunge and bought a ps3 slim 250 GB just for this game and I feel that no other method of learning the guitar can compare to the ease of playing this game to learn. I’ve always wanted to play, but didn’t like the idea of paying and going to weekly classes. This game works like guitar hero/rock band. The best part is that as you are having fun with the game, you are learning how to play an actual guitar (not just a controller that looks like a guitar). Its much easier to pick up the guitar at home and turn on the game… especially if I have 15 minutes here and there. I am very satisfied!2 Platform for Display: PlayStation 3

This was my brothers Christmas gift and he is playing it right now. He is very happy. Real guitar, real strings and the game knows how good you’re doing and introduces more difficulty as you play the guitar. Amazing! Makes you feel like a rock star. Platform for Display: PlayStation 3

I took about 8 real lessons last year with my acoustic and was doing ok. Having this format is so much better. You WANT to play and beat your last score. The only thing I wish it would do is allow a time out; stop when you miss big sections and slow down so you can figure it out. There’s a good mix of new and old music, fast and slow. As far as adding on to the playlist, I wish you could download some country music, but the current selection is great too. Platform for Display: PlayStation 3

I haven’t had a lot of chance to play with this because I have a hard time wrenching it away from the other members of my household. It is a fun way to learn about the different chords and how to play songs. I do wish it was a bit more versatile. I want to learn the chords and be able to practice before I go into the songs, but that option is a bit hidden and it isn’t all the chords. It just funnels you back to a song. That is my only complaint about it and overall, we really have a lot of fun with this. Both my husband and I, and two of our older children are all using it to learn. Lots of fun and I would recommend this over expensive lessons any day! Platform for Display: PlayStation 3

I’m a Mom of a teen boy who anxiously awaits tax time for his yearly cut. This year he wanted this Rocksmith thing I thought was some sort of gem polisher or a machine to that effect!! Well wrong again, what do I know? I gave the thumbs up to go ahead and order it, once I found out exactly what it was and it arrived fast. By the time I got home from work he had it all set up and learning several songs. I was amazed at how it actually teaches them to play a real guitar while playing video games and listening to music (not my kind of music) It has been awhile now and he is still hard at it learning more everyday and really liking playing guitar. Shocking, coming from a kid who has always favored the drums!! Definitely worth the money and if they like music this is the thing to buy. Platform for Display: PlayStation 3

Great concept & game – I can’t believe how well it actually works! There is a tiny amount of lag on my system (PS3) between what I am doing and the audio coming through my home theatre set-up, but away from that it is spot on. For those interested, I have mine set-up with HDMI for video, and toslink (optical) for audio. I don’t have the composite cables to test whether that gives a better performance… My only other criticism at this still early stage in play, is that there is not enough flexibility in what songs you have to play to ‘learn’ and in playing gigs. I’d prefer the option of selecting my own song groups or set lists based on their difficulty, rather than having to play certain songs that I have no knowledge or interest in. All in all though – a great game so far, and a good laugh for this former wanna-be muso! Get amongst it! Platform for Display: PlayStation 3

This is a really fun game, good value, and great for someone wanting to learn the basics of playing guitar but who can’t afford the financial or time committment of taking regular lessons. It’s a good way to start and get some basics. It won’t teach you completely, but can give you a basis for moving on to lessons at a later time.
