I was going to order an Epiphone LP Jr because I needed a guitar and Epis are cheap and well made, but then I stumbled across this awesome guitar which isn’t even on Epiphone’s website. I am really glad I did. This is without a doubt the best guitar you can get for under $200.Since the 2000s, Epiphone’s products have been extremely well made and back then around I remember when the first round of P90 loaded Epi JRs and Specials came out, and I wanted one then, but they quickly stopped producing them. Later they came out with the Special II, which is still being made and is also an excellent guitar for the money. I had one of them a couple of years ago too and regretted getting rid of it. So I knew when I was going to get another electric guitar it would be an Epi.There is a lot to like about this guitar. First of all, it’s TV yellow, which is a very unique Gibson finish that started in the 1950s because it looked nice on Black and White TV. The finish is well done and looks a lot like the old ones from the 50s. The wrap around stop tailpiece works great for sustain and gives the guitar a simplistic and excellent look. Then the P90 soap bar pickups are the real clincher. These things sound amazing! They are hot, bright and cutting, as well as quite versatile because of the combinations between the two pickups and the tone knob. The old Special II I had before also had surprisingly great sounding pickups, but were less versatile because of being humbuckers. I will warn you though the P90s are definitely noisier, since they are single coil pickups. So if you want a high gain metal tone, you may want to go with the Special II. But if you want hard rock, blues or jazz, the Special P90 is your guitar.Read more ›

Great guitar for the price! Pick up sounds nice that stays in tune well. Comfortable neck with a quality bridge and a great finish. All in all its a excellent guitar especially for the price! Highly recommended for beginners. This epiphone les paul guitar is one of the best that is under $200. It has a unique mustard color satin finish which is very smooth and comfortable. It is also light (10 pounds) so you can jam all night long and run around the stage or living room lol. It just simply beats all other budget guitars in quality with its great sustain and resonance. I highly recommend this guitar!
